Flower beds require extensive preparation for best results. Spread 2 bags of Kellogs Amend per 25 square feet (5 x 5). Then scatter bone meal at a rate of 2 lbs. per 25 square feet. These soil amendments should be worked into the top 6" of soil. These two items will provide much needed organic matter and phosphorus for good plant performance. Everyday watering will be necessary for first few days, especially during the summer months. Always water deeply and thoroughly.
